Stalker 2: A-Life 2.0 Delayed, But Sales are Strong
Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, released just two weeks ago, is still undergoing development. While a day-one patch addressed some issues, the highly anticipated A-Life 2.0 system is absent.
Why the Delay?
According to GSC Game World, A-Life 2.0, designed to give NPCs more realistic and independent behavior, is experiencing technical difficulties. Attempts to optimize the system resulted in game-breaking bugs, leading to its temporary removal. The change in the game’s Steam description was attributed to a marketing department error.
GSC Game World remains committed to implementing A-Life 2.0, focusing on optimization, bug fixing, and further development.
Controversy and Success
Stalker 2 has also faced accusations from Russian propaganda outlets, falsely claiming it is recruiting players for the Ukrainian military. The documentary War Game: The Making of Stalker 2 highlighted the challenges faced by the development team during the war in Ukraine. Despite these challenges and technical setbacks, Stalker 2 has already sold over 1 million copies across PC and Xbox and is available on Game Pass.
