Sony Until Dawn Movie Gets 2025 Release Date Confirmed
Sony Pictures announced earlier this year that a feature film based on the 2015 interactive game Until Dawn was in the works. Now, the movie has finished filming and is set to hit the big screen in 2025, just a few months ahead of the game’s tenth anniversary.
Release Date and Cast
The Until Dawn movie is scheduled to be released on April 25, 2025. The film was directed by David F. Sandberg, who previously helmed the two Shazam! movies for DC and Warner Bros. Pictures. Gary Dauberman wrote the final version of the script and produced the film with Sandberg.
The original game featured Rami Malek, Hayden Panettiere, and Brett Dalton as part of a group of friends who reunite in a remote mountain resort. The movie cast includes Peter Stormare, who is reprising his role as Dr. Alan J. Hill from the game, as well as Ella Rubin, Michael Cimino, Ji-young Yoo, Odessa A’zion, Maia Mitchell, and Belmont Cameli.
Connection to the Original Game
Peter Stormare’s return as Dr. Alan J. Hill suggests that the movie may follow the source material closely. The group of friends in the movie will likely face a horrific threat in the wintry woods, just like in the original game.
A remake of Until Dawn was recently released on PS5 and PC, which hinted at a possible sequel. If the movie is successful, any potential sequel for the game could inform the second film as well.
