Niantic, the developer of Pokémon Go, is offering full refunds to attendees of the Pokémon Go Tour: Unova – Los Angeles event scheduled for February 23rd. This decision follows the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles.
Refunds Available
Ticket holders who paid the entry fee can request a refund through in-app support before the event. The event itself, taking place at the Rose Bowl Stadium and Brookside Golf Course, is still planned to proceed.
Event to Continue
Niantic stated their commitment to the safety of attendees and are proceeding with the event in partnership with local authorities. The event will feature an in-person experience and a sneak peek at gameplay launching globally on March 1st and 2nd.
Global Debut
The in-person event will include the debut of Black Kyurem and White Kyurem, along with a Shiny version of the Mythical creature Meloetta.
Numerous video game companies have donated to wildfire relief efforts following the devastating impact of the fires.
