Pocketpair Launches Indie Game Publishing Label
Pocketpair, creators of the wildly successful game Palworld, is branching out into game publishing. The company’s new label, Pocketpair Publishing, will offer funding, development assistance, and publishing services to indie developers and small studios.
Their first project is a collaboration with Surgent Studios, developers of Tales of Kenzera: Zau, on a new horror game releasing later this year. Surgent Studios faced financial difficulties after their previous release, highlighting the challenges faced by many indie developers.
The Indie Game Landscape
The indie game industry is currently facing funding challenges, with larger publishers tightening their belts. Pocketpair Publishing joins other companies like Bigmode and Outersloth, who are using their success to support indie game development.
Pocketpair Publishing aims to ease the development process and provide a supportive environment for creators. They want to help more games like Palworld see the light of day.
