Nintendo Alarmo Clock Japan Launch Delayed
Nintendo has delayed the Japanese launch of its Alarmo alarm clock, citing production and inventory issues. The alarm clock, already available in Europe and America to Nintendo Switch Online subscribers, saw high demand in Japan, leading to a subscriber lottery.
A Worldwide Delay?
While a wider January launch was planned globally, Nintendo has confirmed the delay for Japan. Eurogamer has reached out to Nintendo UK to inquire about potential impacts on European plans. There is currently no rescheduled launch date for Japan. Japanese subscribers who pre-ordered will receive their alarms in February 2025.
Switch 2 and Production Challenges
This delay comes as Nintendo prepares for the launch of the Switch 2. While the company remains tight-lipped on production details, they have confirmed a public unveiling before March 2025.
Alarmo Review
A recent Eurogamer review highlighted the alarm clockâs clever motion sensor as its best feature, but noted the price may not justify the overall experience despite its fun theme music from various Nintendo franchises like Pikmin, Mario, and Zelda.
