After 18 years, a new Virtua Fighter game is in development! While not actual gameplay, an in-engine trailer has been shown at CES.

The trailer, a pre-development concept, showcased a shanty town setting with Akira, the series’ mascot, in a more realistic design fighting in the muddy streets. The visuals are impressive, featuring smooth animations and detailed, destructible environments.
What We Know So Far
- The game was initially announced at The Game Awards in December.
- Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio (Yakuza/Like a Dragon developers) is leading development.
- A release date is currently unannounced.
- Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O, a remaster for Steam, is releasing on January 27th, featuring 4K graphics and rollback netcode.
