Netflix’s New Word Game: TED Tumblewords
Netflix expands its mobile gaming library with TED Tumblewords, a daily word puzzle game. Players rearrange letters on a 3×3 grid to create the longest words possible, earning points based on word length and letter values.
Familiar Gameplay, Familiar Market
While innovative in its TED partnership, Tumblewords enters a saturated market. It shares similarities with popular games like Wordle, Word Cookies, and Words With Friends, even resembling Netflix’s existing title, Word Trails. The game includes a daily streak feature, encouraging regular play and social sharing.
Game Modes and Features
TED Tumblewords offers three modes: Daily Six (six words, high score challenge), Daily Ladder (five levels with increasing point requirements), and Daily Match (player vs. TED bot). Players can also engage in turn-based matches with friends or strangers. A unique element is the inclusion of “Knowledge Cards” offering fun facts, unlocking badges upon completion of card sets.
Key Features:
- Daily challenges
- Multiple game modes
- Competitive online play
- Educational Knowledge Cards
