More Indiana Jones Games? Lucasfilm Says Maybe!
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, released on PC and Xbox, has fans wondering about future installments. While Lucasfilm Games executive Douglas Reilly told Variety the team is “always looking for great stories,” he didn’t confirm a sequel or new Indiana Jones game by MachineGames or another studio.
Focusing on Success
Reilly emphasized the current focus on the game’s success and its upcoming DLC, The Order of Giants. He noted the potential for more stories set between the films, stating there’s “a lot of space in between the films where we could tell more and more Indiana Jones stories.”
The Great Circle: A New Adventure
The Great Circle is a single-player adventure set in 1937, between Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade. Players stop evil forces from obtaining The Great Circle. It’s the first console Indiana Jones game since Lego Indiana Jones 2 (2011).
Lucasfilm’s Involvement
Lucasfilm ensured the game accurately represented Indiana Jones, including approving Troy Baker’s casting. Reilly praised Baker’s performance, stating, “Between the work MachineGames did in representing him physically and the absolutely stunning work Troy has done voicing the character, you forget it’s not Harrison when you play it.
Future Games: A Matter of Success
The possibility of future games depends on The Great Circle’s commercial success. While Steam lists it as a top-seller, its performance on Xbox is less clear due to its inclusion in Game Pass and the lack of publicly released sales figures. The game is also slated for a PS5 release in Spring 2025.
