Lenovo Legion Go: Bigger Display, Enhanced Features
Tech leaker Evan Blass revealed images of an upcoming Lenovo Legion Go handheld gaming PC boasting significant upgrades. This larger model retains the detachable Joy-Con-like controllers and kickstand, including the unique “FPS mode” which transforms a controller into a vertical mouse.
Key Improvements:
A major upgrade could be an OLED screen, replacing the original’s IPS LCD, promising richer colors and deeper blacks at the same 8.8-inch size. The leaked images showcase smoother controller designs with refined mouse buttons and a cover to protect charging pins. While the images don’t show a Steam button, suggesting potential Windows support alongside SteamOS, a smaller version, the Legion Go S, is strongly indicated to be a SteamOS handheld, utilizing Valve’s “Powered by SteamOS” branding.
Uncertainties Remain:
Specifics such as battery life and available ports are still unknown. While an AMD Z2 Extreme chip is anticipated, confirmation is pending. Lenovo and Valve have been contacted for further information.
Original Legion Go Improvements:
The revised Legion Go addresses some criticisms of the original model. The new controllers are more ergonomically sculpted, offering a more comfortable gaming experience.
