Kamiya Blasts Switch 2 Leakers: Cursed!
Hideki Kamiya, renowned game designer behind Okami and Bayonetta, unleashed his fury on those who leaked Nintendo Switch 2 information.
Kamiya’s Scathing Remarks
In a series of tweets, Kamiya wished a rather unpleasant curse upon the leakers, jokingly hoping they’d perpetually find poop on their shoes. He expressed genuine frustration, calling them “the worst of scum” and emphasizing the irresponsibility of their actions.
He contrasted this with the successful surprise reveal of an Okami sequel, highlighting the value of preserving the excitement of official announcements.
Kamiya’s outburst reflects a wider industry issue. Leaks have become increasingly prevalent, disrupting the planned releases of major titles from various studios, including Nintendo. Former Nintendo employees even suggested the company was “very, very upset” by the Switch 2 leaks due to their impact.
The Switch 2 and Beyond
The Switch 2, finally officially revealed, is still without a confirmed release date but was teased alongside a new Mario Kart game. Kamiya’s Okami sequel, thankfully, avoided pre-release leaks. It’s being developed by his studio Clovers.
While Kamiya’s social media presence is often outspoken, this incident underscores the growing concern surrounding leaks and their detrimental effects on the gaming industry.
