Infinity Nikki: Gacha Game Taught Me a Lesson
My Infinity Nikki journey, while enjoyable, delivered a harsh lesson in gacha game mechanics. I aimed for the Wings of Wishes outfit, a limited-time event reward.
The game uses a slot machine system; you spend in-game currency to “pull” for outfit pieces. I almost completed the set, but the currency refill rate proved insufficient. I resorted to spending real money, falling prey to the “one more piece” mentality.
Lessons Learned
I learned that gacha games are designed to subtly extract money. My small, frequent purchases added up. Experienced players either save diligently or budget for desired items, understanding the inherent randomness.
I wrongly assumed casual play and occasional spending would suffice. Now I know to either plan thoroughly or avoid premium outfits completely. The irony? I don’t even particularly like the incomplete Wings of Wishes outfit I spent money on!
