Indiana Jones: Ray Tracing Delayed in Early Access
PC players who purchased the Premium or Collector’s Editions of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle for early access will be disappointed to learn that full ray tracing is delayed. Early access begins today, but the full ray tracing feature won’t be available until December 9th, the game’s official release date.
Nvidia confirmed the delay, stating that shadows, reflections, and global illumination using full ray tracing will be added in a December 9th update. DLSS Ray Reconstruction is also “coming soon.”
The Delay’s Impact
This delay might frustrate early access buyers, considering the higher price of the Premium Edition. The game’s hefty PC specs require GPU hardware ray tracing, even at minimum settings.
MachineGames CTO Jim Kjellin explained that the game uses a global illumination technique relying on hardware ray tracing for performance and high fidelity. While not traditional ray tracing, compatible hardware is essential.
Platform Availability
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is also available on Xbox Series X/S and will launch on PS5 in Spring 2025.
