Supergiant Games’ Hades II has received its second major update in early access, and it’s a perfect excuse to dive back into the Underworld (and beyond). While the full 1.0 release is still some time away, the developers are constantly refining and expanding the experience, making it a joy to play even now.

Major Updates, Major Improvements

Each major update brings significant additions. So far we’ve seen:

A whole new region, Mount Olympus, from the first major update, complete with grand architecture, tough enemies, and an amazing orchestral soundtrack.

The game’s sixth and final weapon a witch-y, Hades-style interpretation of a mech suit, was also added in the first major update.

From the second major update, A new region, and boss. As well, as many smaller details that feel just as impactful, like, the Altar of Ashes got a visual redesign.

Supergiant Games isn’t just adding content; they’re actively listening to player feedback. Many changes, both big and small, are directly inspired by the community, which is a great demonstration of the benefits of early access development.
