Gwent: The Witcher Card Game Goes Physical
Get ready, Witcher fans! The beloved in-game card game, Gwent, is finally getting a physical release. For years, players have enjoyed Gwent within The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, on mobile, and as a free-to-play game on Steam. Now, you can experience the strategic card battles on your tabletop.
A Physical Gwent Experience
Hachette Boardgames UK and No Loading Games are collaborating to bring this highly anticipated physical version to life. The set includes over 400 cards and a playmat, providing an authentic Witcher 3 experience. Multiple rulesets cater to both casual players and competitive enthusiasts.
Gameplay and Decks
Gwent’s gameplay is deceptively simple yet strategically deep. Players choose from four factions: Monsters, Nilfgaardian Empire, Northern Realms, and Scoia’tael, with the Skellige faction added later. Neutral cards can enhance any deck. Matches are best of three rounds, with victory determined by red gems; a draw usually results in point loss, except for the Nilfgaardian Empire, who win on draws.
Release Details
The complete Gwent board game set is expected to launch in late 2025. While Witcher fans eagerly anticipate this release, the wait for The Witcher 4 continues, with a projected release in two years.
