GTA 6 Delay? 2025 Game Releases Wait
Will GTA 6 Launch in 2025?
Take-Two, Rockstar Games’ parent company, recently stated that Grand Theft Auto 6 is on track for a Fall 2025 release. However, a new Bloomberg report suggests rival publishers are hesitant to finalize their own Fall 2025 release dates, waiting to see if Rockstar delays GTA 6 to 2026.
Many publishers are avoiding a release near GTA 6, fearing its impact. Ubisoft is an exception, stating they aren’t afraid of launching games near GTA titles and believe a major release like GTA 6 benefits the industry.
Rockstar’s History of Delays
Rockstar has a history of delaying AAA titles. Grand Theft Auto 4, Red Dead Redemption, Grand Theft Auto 5, and Red Dead Redemption 2 all faced release date shifts. While GTA 6 is currently scheduled for 2025, the Bloomberg report mentions missed deadlines, suggesting a delay is possible.
The report also indicates Rockstar is requesting its writers use less crude language towards transgender people and other minorities. Earlier this year, Take-Two expressed that the GTA 6 release date’s impact is minimal, given the immense anticipation surrounding the game.
The Anticipation
Grand Theft Auto 5‘s massive success (over 205 million copies sold) fueled anticipation for its sequel. The first GTA 6 trailer, released over a year ago, further heightened excitement, leading to a recently listed parody game.
