GeForce Now Introduces Playtime Limit, But Offers Additional Hours for Purchase
Nvidia has announced a playtime cap of 100 hours a month for GeForce Now’s paying Performance (previously Priority) and Ultimate subscribers, starting in 2025. However, extra hours can be purchased for a fee.
Why the Change?
Nvidia explains the limit will help maintain exceptional quality and speed, as well as reduce queue times. The company claims this change will comfortably accommodate 94 percent of members.
Additional Playtime Costs
Performance tier subscribers can buy 15 additional hours for $2.99, while Ultimate subscribers will pay $5.99 for the same amount. Up to 15 unused hours will automatically roll over to the next month.
Unlimited Playtime Remains
Existing subscribers, as well as new sign-ups before December 31st, 2024, will continue to enjoy unlimited playtime until January 2026. Additionally, Founders tier subscribers will retain their unlimited playtime for life, provided there’s no lapse in their membership. However, switching to an Ultimate subscription will immediately apply the 100-hour monthly limit from January 2026.
New GeForce Now Benefits
In addition to the playtime limitations, Nvidia has announced new GeForce Now benefits:
- Performance tier subscribers can now stream in 1440p resolution.
- Ultrawide resolutions are now supported for Performance and Ultimate subscribers.
- All Performance and Ultimate subscribers can save their in-game graphics settings across streaming sessions.
