Gaming Adventures in Eora and Beyond This Week
Dive into the gaming worlds we’ve explored this week. From familiar faces in new places to revisiting the origins of captivating sagas, here’s a peek at our latest adventures.
Avowed, Xbox Series X
Ever played a game with your eyes closed? In Avowed, the voice of Kai, your fish-man companion, might sound familiar. It’s Brendan Keener, also known as Garrus from Mass Effect. This connection made exploring Eora feel like a reunion with an old space buddy. The stunning Unreal Engine 5 graphics and helpful lore guide were great, but having Garrus by my side made it hard to get adjusted.
The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe, PS5
From the stress of Dead Space to the quirky world of The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe, it’s been a rollercoaster. After a baby gate incident triggered by Dead Space-induced stress, a change was needed. The Stanley Parable, a recent PS Plus game, offered a refreshing and unpredictable experience.
Pillars of Eternity, PC
Avowed sparked a return to where it all began: Pillars of Eternity. The world of Eora is captivating, pulling you in like a good book. It’s amazing to see how well-defined the universe was from the start, with mentions of The Living Lands, which we finally explore in Avowed. The consistency across these games, despite their genre differences, is impressive.
