Free Fire: Morocco’s First National Esports Tournament
Garena has made history with the launch of “Free Fire: The Battle of Morocco,” the country’s first national esports tournament. This event marks a significant step for Moroccan esports, bringing competitive Free Fire to fans offline for the first time.
Tournament Details
The tournament began with online qualifiers on August 5th, leading to an offline grand finale in Casablanca on August 24th. Players competed for a MAD 100,000 prize pool.
Eldwin Pradipta, Free Fire Game Producer at Garena Middle East and Africa, expressed excitement about the event and the passion Moroccan youth have for esports. Garena is dedicated to supporting this talent.
Tournament Stages
The Group Qualifiers (August 5th-9th) featured best-of-four Battle Royale matches. The top 20 teams advanced to the Playoffs (August 16th-17th).
The Playoffs included the top 20 teams and four elite Moroccan squads:
- Wask Team
- Winners Esports
- Fight Night
- Top 12
Twenty-four teams, divided into two groups of 12, competed online. The top 6 from each group advanced to the Grand Finals in Casablanca on August 24th.
Grand Finale
The Grand Finals in Casablanca are expected to draw thousands of fans and players. Over 10,000 players initially signed up, showcasing the excitement surrounding the event and the opportunity to represent Morocco internationally.
