FF7 Remake Part 3: Story Complete, Producer Expresses Satisfaction
Big news for Final Fantasy VII Remake fans! The scenario for the third and final part of the trilogy is complete, according to series producer Yoshinori Kitase in an interview with Famitsu. Kitase expressed his great satisfaction with the completed storyline, hinting that fans will be equally pleased with the conclusion.
Development and Future Plans
Development on the third game began immediately after Rebirth concluded and is progressing on schedule. While a release date remains unannounced, creative director Tetsuya Nomura was tasked with creating an ending that honors the original FF7 while offering a fresh, satisfying experience. This goal was achieved by the end of 2024.
The team also discussed the increasing importance of the PC platform due to rising player numbers and development costs. The PC release of Rebirth includes Steam Deck verification and the possibility of adding features from the PC version to the PS5 version, such as a fast-forward option for cutscenes and potentially a New Game Plus mode for the upcoming third installment.
Addressing Fan Questions
Director Naoki Hamaguchi clarified previous comments about Cloud and Aerith’s relationship, stating that previous remarks were a misunderstanding and the relationship will be solely conveyed through the game’s narrative. He also highlighted the positive impact of the cutscene fast-forward feature in Rebirth, stating it increased player engagement.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is available now on PC.
