Elden Ring Shatters Records: 28 Million Copies Sold!
Get ready to be amazed! Elden Ring has officially sold over 28.6 million copies worldwide. This phenomenal achievement surpasses the total sales of the entire Dark Souls series before Elden Ring’s release.
A Meteoric Rise
Bandai Namco announced these incredible sales figures in September 2024, following the release of the expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree. The game had already shipped 25 million copies by June 2024, showcasing its continued success.
According to Daniel Ahmad, director of research and insights at Niko Partners, the Dark Souls franchise sold 27 million copies before Elden Ring’s debut. Now, Elden Ring alone has not only surpassed that, but the Dark Souls series has also seen a boost in sales, reportedly selling over 39 million copies.
Elden Ring: Among the Best-Selling Games
Elden Ring’s success is undeniable, cementing its place as one of the best-selling games ever, outperforming titles like Super Mario Odyssey, GTA: San Andreas, and Pokémon Sword and Shield.
Elden Ring: Nightreign – A New Adventure
The news comes alongside the announcement of Elden Ring: Nightreign, a co-op spin-off game revealed at The Game Awards. This new title introduces roguelite elements and a challenging three-day-and-night cycle.
A network test for Nightreign is scheduled for February, with registration opening January 10th.
