Diablo Immortal Celebrates WoW’s 20th Anniversary with Lich King Boss Battle
Diablo Immortal is celebrating 20 years of World of Warcraft in a big way, with a limited-time Lich King boss battle, a new PvP battleground modeled after WoW’s Arathi Basin, Murloc familiar skins, and a whole bunch of free and paid cosmetics.
Face the Lich King
From November 13 through December 11, players can battle the Lich King (Arthas), who remains one of the franchise’s most iconic characters. He’ll use his signature abilities, including summoning ghouls and abominations. Players need to earn Fallen Citadel Gates by completing dungeons, logging in, or as a rare drop from monsters.
World of Warcraft-Themed Cosmetics
Players can earn new weapon cosmetics modeled after WoW’s legendary weapons, including Thunderfury, Shadowmourne, Gorehowl, and Atiesh, by progressing through an event pass. The Frostmourne skin is also available during this event.
Cutthroat Basin
A new PvP battleground, Cutthroat Basin, modeled after WoW’s Arathi Basin, launches on November 13. Players’ levels, items, and gems will be normalized, and they’ll be able to use WoW abilities like Blessing of Kings, Stealth, Eagle Eye, and Blink.
Free and Paid Cosmetics
Murloc skins for familiar pets can be earned for free, but Illidan-themed wings and cosmetics are only available through the Phantom Market. Players get one free roll for logging in. Two versions of Ashbringer can be purchased from the in-game shop.
WoW Treasure Nabbin’ Bag
WoW players with a linked Battle.net account can earn a Treasure Nabbin’ Bag back cosmetic by logging into Diablo Immortal with a character level 10 or above. For more details, visit Blizzard’s blog.
