Destiny 2 Vesper’s Host Dungeon Release Date and Details Revealed

Destiny 2’s Episode: Revenant content drop brings Vesper’s Host, a three-player dungeon that offers an intense challenge to endgame players. The dungeon includes a fan-favorite Destiny Exotic, Ice Breaker, and a contest mode for the first time.

Release Date and Contest Mode

Vesper’s Host becomes available in Destiny 2 starting at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET on Friday, October 11. The dungeon features a contest mode that lasts through the first 48 hours of its launch. Contest mode normalizes the challenge by capping player levels, making it fair for all players. Completing contest mode is the best way to get the Exotic sniper rifle, Ice Breaker.

Contest Mode Details

Players need to be at Power level of 1985 to meet the cap for all activities. Contest mode works by capping player levels beneath the recommended level for an activity’s encounters. Completing contest mode also rewards the exclusive emblem, Orbital Tournament.

Vesper’s Host Exotic Weapon: Ice Breaker

Ice Breaker is a Solar sniper rifle that was originally released in Destiny 1. The Destiny 2 version of Ice Breaker has been tweaked to make it less powerful but still effective. It has a chance to regenerate ammo whenever you get kills with your other weapons, and kills on tougher combatants offer the chance to generate multiple rounds.

How to Watch the Dungeon Race

Even if you’re not playing, you can watch teams take on the dungeon on Twitch on the Twitch Rivals channel. Coverage starts at 9:30 PT / 12:30 ET on Friday. Watching the dungeon coverage can also get you two emblems through Twitch Drops.
