Destiny 2 Codename Apollo Expansion Revealed
Bungie has revealed more details about the upcoming Codename: Apollo expansion for Destiny 2, which is set to arrive next summer. The expansion will feature a “Metroidvania-inspired destination” with a non-linear campaign that puts players in the driver’s seat of exploring its world and story.
Exploring the New Destination
Players will have the freedom to explore multiple destinations from the start, with some areas only becoming accessible once a specific item has been found elsewhere. The expansion will feature characters to meet and choices to make, with around 25-30 different threads of stories that players can tease out as they complete different activities.
Next Generation Armour
Also coming next year is a system called “next generation armour”, which aims to make armour exciting again by giving it unique properties and more manageable stats. This will result in a smaller number of unique stats on any piece of armour, with larger contributions to these stats, and every stat point providing a benefit.
Revenant: Act 1
Before the Codename: Apollo expansion, Destiny 2 will embark on its latest season, Revenant: Act 1, which starts next week. The new season will feature the new Onslaught: Salvation mode, with three maps, new enemies, and new defensive abilities.
