Dead by Daylight PvE Spin-Off Project T Cancelled
Behaviour Interactive Cancels Project T Due to Unsatisfactory Test Results
Behaviour Interactive has cancelled its Dead by Daylight four-player co-op spin-off, known as Project T, after early player testing yielded unsatisfactory overall results. Project T was developed by Midwinter Entertainment and aimed to create a PvE experience set in the Dead by Daylight universe.
What was Project T?
Project T would have seen four players, cast as trespassers in the Entity’s realm, tackling new enemies known as The Thrall using guns, trucks, and talismans. The game was first announced in May and was described as being very early in development. Behaviour Interactive had launched an Insider Programme to gather fan feedback, but unfortunately, the responses weren’t especially positive.
Reason for Cancellation
Behaviour Interactive stated that the cancellation was due to the results of a thorough internal risk assessment from a product and commercial perspective. Although some players expressed appreciation for what they played, the overall results were unsatisfactory. The developer thanked fans for their support throughout the journey.
Other Dead by Daylight Spin-Offs
When Project T was unveiled, it was accompanied by news of two additional Dead by Daylight spin-offs. The Casting of Frank Stone, a narrative adventure developed by Supermassive, launched earlier this month. What The Fog, a free two-person co-op roguelite, was briefly made available.
Conclusion
The cancellation of Project T is a disappointment for fans of the Dead by Daylight series. However, Behaviour Interactive’s decision to involve players in the development process from an early stage is commendable. The developer’s commitment to creating a high-quality game is evident, and fans can look forward to other upcoming projects in the Dead by Daylight universe.
