Control 2: Remedy’s Action RPG Sequel in Production
Remedy Entertainment has announced exciting new details about its expanding interconnected universe, including the highly anticipated sequel to the supernatural thriller, Control. Control 2 will be an action RPG, a departure from the original games action-adventure style.
This announcement, made during an investor presentation, also revealed that Alan Wake 2 has surpassed 1.8 million copies sold, and that Control’s ultimate edition is coming to Mac on February 12th with a free content update planned for next year.
Remedy’s Expanding Universe
Remedy is building an interconnected universe encompassing its game franchises, including Control and Alan Wake, and extending into film and television. A partnership with Annapurna is underway to explore these possibilities. The studio also unveiled FBC: Firebreak, its first multiplayer game connected to the existing titles. According to Creative Director Sam Lake, Alan Wake, Control, and Firebreak are all part of this shared universe.
In terms of development, Firebreak is in full production, while Control 2 is in production readiness.
