Classic Star Wars Game Gets Modern Console Release

Aspyr has been bringing back several classic Star Wars video games to the current generation of consoles and PC, and now they’ve revealed their next revival title: Star Wars Episode I: Jedi Power Battles. The game is a loose retelling of the events that unfolded in Star Wars: Episode 1 – The Phantom Menace.

Gameplay and Features

The game follows Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui-Gon Jinn as they face off against the Trade Federation’s deadly battle droids in an attempt to save the planet Naboo from conquest. However, the game also features other playable characters, including:

The game also features Big Head Mode, as well as other cheats that can be used. Players can enjoy co-op gameplay or face each other in the game’s Versus mode. Additionally, Jedi Masters, including Mace Windu, will have the chance to have on-screen-accurate lightsaber colors or the standard lightsaber colors that originally came with the game.

Release Date and Platforms

Star Wars Episode I: Jedi Power Battles will be released on January 23, 2025, for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. If the game follows the same pattern as Aspyr’s previous Star Wars games, there may be a physical edition available through Limited Run Games as well.
