Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Bans 136,000 Cheaters
Treyarch has banned 136,000 accounts across Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone for cheating. The developer acknowledges that cheaters negatively impact gameplay and has outlined ongoing efforts to combat this issue through 2025.
Addressing Cheating in Call of Duty
These efforts include implementing new security measures, updated detection models for aimbots and other cheats, and utilizing account trust and hardware identifiers to target repeat offenders. Improved reporting systems and enhanced review tools are also in the works.
Key improvements coming in Season 2 include:
- New and improved client and server-side detections.
- Major kernel-level driver updates enhancing driver security, encryption, and tampering detection.
Treyarch clarifies that malicious reporting is against policy and that their system prioritizes genuine reports. Interestingly, when a cheater is banned, the system investigates associated accounts to combat boosting and other related behaviors. IP-based bans are not used to avoid unfairly targeting innocent players.
Season 2 and Beyond
With Season 2 launching on January 28th, players can also anticipate the release of a new Zombies map, The Tomb, set in ancient catacombs.
