Black Myth: Wukong DLC and Xbox Release This Year?
Game director Feng Ji hinted at “surprises” for Black Myth: Wukong later this year, fueling speculation about upcoming DLC and the Xbox release.
What are the Surprises?
Ji’s comment follows Black Myth: Wukong’s Golden Joysticks Game of the Year win. The Xbox release, delayed for optimization, is still awaited. Microsoft confirmed the delay wasn’t due to platform limitations.
The game’s website previously mentioned potential DLC and in-game purchases. Bloomberg also reported Game Science is developing an expansion. Rumors point to an early 2025 DLC release coinciding with Chinese New Year. However, a pre-Christmas release date announcement is also possible.
Will Xbox Players Finally Get to Play?
The game’s release on Xbox was delayed, sparking rumors of a PlayStation exclusivity deal. While Microsoft denies platform limitations caused the delay, a release date is yet to be confirmed. The possibility remains that the Xbox version could launch before the year’s end.
Our Eurogamer review described Black Myth: Wukong as having “frustratingly hollow and rudderless action game” despite impressive boss fights.
