Black Myth: Wukong Smashes Steam Records with Over 1.2 Million Concurrent Players
Less than two hours after its launch, Black Myth: Wukong has become the most-played game on Steam, with over 1,249,525 concurrent players. This achievement has catapulted the singleplayer action RPG into the hall of fame for all-time record Steam launches.
Surpassing Powerhouse Games
Black Myth: Wukong has already surpassed a list of elite games, including Hogwarts Legacy, Elden Ring, and Cyberpunk 2077, according to SteamDB. Its current player count has exceeded that of Hogwarts Legacy by over 370,000 players, Elden Ring by over 296,000 players, and Cyberpunk 2077 by over 195,000 players.
Next in its Sights
The game is now closing in on Dota 2’s concurrent player count and is likely to pass it soon. However, the bigger question is whether Black Myth: Wukong can take down the concurrent numbers of PUBG and Palworld, which set their records in January 2018 and January 2024, respectively.
Given its current momentum, it’s possible that Black Myth: Wukong could achieve this feat. With most of the world still asleep, the game is already putting up impressive numbers, especially in China.
