Get Ready for a Time-Looping Adventure with Tron: Catalyst
Developed by Bithell Games, a new Tron game is on its way, offering an exciting time-looping isometric action-adventure experience. In this innovative game, your character’s progress may reset, but the world you’ve influenced remains changed for your next run.
A New Take on the Tron Franchise
Bithell Games, known for its work on indie darlings like Thomas Was Alone and Volume, has partnered with Disney to bring this unique Tron experience to life. The game’s story combines familiar threads from the films and previous Tron game, Tron: Identity, to create a bigger and more intriguing world of computer programs.
Tron: Catalyst follows the journey of Exo, a program who can reset the game’s world after making progress but reaching a dead-end. On your next run, you’ll begin again with the previous world state saved, allowing you to unlock shortcuts and influence the world’s inhabitants.
Gameplay and Features
As Exo, you’ll be able to fight groups of enemies using your light disc and call upon your lightcycle to zoom around the world. The game promises to offer a slick and action-packed experience, with a relatively large world to explore.
Release Window and More
Tron: Catalyst is set to arrive on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch in 2025, published by Big Fan Games, a subsidiary of Devolver Digital. While there’s no definitive release date yet, fans can look forward to a third Tron film, Tron: Aeres, starring Jared Leto and Jodie Turner-Smith, launching next October.
