Battlefield 6: New Game Coming by March 2026
Battlefield 6: Targeting a 2026 Release
EA’s recent earnings report offers a glimpse into the future of the Battlefield franchise, hinting at a potential release window for the next installment, often referred to as Battlefield 6. The game is slated to launch sometime between April 1, 2025, and March 31, 2026, falling within EA’s 2026 fiscal year.
What We Know So Far
While details remain scarce, the announcement follows the unveiling of Battlefield Labs, a testing program designed to gather player feedback. Participation in Labs is currently open, though participants are bound by confidentiality agreements. The initial testing phase, focusing on gameplay loops and map layouts, will commence in the coming weeks.
Early gameplay footage has been teased, showcasing the game’s pre-alpha state. Development is spearheaded by Battlefield Studios, a collaborative effort encompassing DICE, Ripple Effect, Criterion, and Motive studios. This collaborative approach seems to temporarily sideline the Need for Speed franchise, although EA has confirmed the series is not canceled.
A Look at Battlefield Labs
Battlefield Labs aims to improve upon the launch of Battlefield 2042, which faced criticism for changes to its class system and increased player count. Feedback gathered through Labs will be used to refine the upcoming game and hopefully result in a smoother launch.
The Road Ahead
While an October 2025 release was previously suggested, EA’s announcement confirms a later release window. The upcoming Battlefield game promises a return to the franchise’s roots, incorporating lessons learned from the past and leveraging player input to shape the final product.
