PS5 30th Anniversary Edition UK Pre-Orders Cancelled by Argos
PS5 30th Anniversary Edition customers in the UK have been left confused after receiving emails from Argos stating that their pre-orders have been cancelled.
Cancelled Pre-Orders and Conflicting Information
Customers who received the cancellation emails were told that Argos was “unable to fulfil” their pre-orders. However, when some customers contacted Argos’ customer support, they were informed that the emails had been sent “in error” and that their orders were still scheduled to be delivered at the end of November.
Other customers, however, were told that “all cancellations are correct” and that Argos apologised for “any inconvenience caused”. An Argos representative stated that “as this is a mass cancellation, it is taking time for some orders to update to cancelled. Refunds are being processed as we speak”.
One unhappy pre-orderer expressed frustration at missing the opportunity to buy elsewhere, stating that they “shouldn’t have to preorder from multiple shops to stand a chance of getting something in case of cancellations”.
Lack of Public Statement
Despite the mass cancellations, Argos has not made a wider public statement about the situation. The retailer has been contacting affected customers on social media, but a formal confirmation and further clarification on the situation have not been provided.
Argos’ actions have left many customers disappointed and frustrated, with some still waiting to receive their pre-ordered games. The situation raises concerns about the reliability of pre-order systems and the importance of clear communication from retailers.
