Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp’s Sunset and a New Dawn
After a seven-year run, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp will be ending its online service on November 28th, 2024 at 11 AM ET. Nintendo assures players they can enjoy the game fully until then, with events and new items added.
What’s Happening?
Leaf Tickets will stop being sold on November 27th, and Pocket Camp Club subscriptions will not renew after October 28th. However, this isn’t the end of the game!
A New Beginning
Nintendo is developing a new version of Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, a paid app with no in-app purchases. Importantly, it will be playable offline! Save data will transfer over by linking Nintendo Accounts. More details will be revealed in October.
Nintendo’s Mobile Strategy Shift
This announcement reflects Nintendo’s evolving mobile strategy. Following the success of games like Miitomo, Super Mario Run, Fire Emblem Heroes, and Mario Kart Tour, Nintendo is focusing its mobile efforts differently. This new approach differs from the shutdown of their free-to-play game, Dragalia Lost.
