FF14 Ultimate Raid Cheaters Busted: One Pixel’s Telltale Secret
Another Final Fantasy 14 Ultimate Raid world first attempt was spoiled by cheaters, exposed by a single pixel.
The Cheating Scandal
The team GRIND initially claimed victory in the Futures Rewritten raid, but was later disqualified. A single pixel in a screenshot revealed use of the Pixel Perfect Plus plugin, which is forbidden.
This plugin displays a character’s exact hitbox, providing an unfair advantage in dodging attacks. Frosty, the MogTalk creator and World Race tracker, disqualified GRIND, awarding the win to Kindred.
A Recurring Problem
This marks the third consecutive Ultimate Raid challenge marred by cheating. The Omega Protocol and Dragonsong’s Reprise world first clears were also revoked due to third-party mod use.
Director and producer Naoki Yoshida previously expressed disappointment, pledging to enhance the HUD to discourage mod use. Despite this, cheating continues.
Community Concerns
Frosty noted the difficulty in policing cheaters, particularly as not all challengers stream their attempts. The ongoing issue highlights the need for discussion within the community regarding fair play and maintaining the integrity of the world first race.
