Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Cracks Down on Cheaters
Activision is aggressively tackling cheating in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Ranked Play. Their anti-cheat team, Team Ricochet, conducts hourly sweeps of the leaderboards.
Over 19,000 Bans and Counting
Since the launch of Ranked Play on November 21st, over 19,000 accounts have been banned. Despite this, new accounts are also being created, highlighting the ongoing challenge.
Activision’s statement acknowledges the persistent issue and assures players that Ricochet’s AI systems are continually improving to accelerate enforcement. The company previously tuned Ricochet to address disruptive behaviors like AFK boosting and VPN account usage.
Mixed Reception for Ranked Play
The launch of Ranked Play received a mixed reaction, with many players criticizing the prevalence of cheating. While Black Ops 6 boasts the biggest launch in Call of Duty history, the persistent cheating problem remains a significant concern.
Despite its success, some critics note the game’s adherence to a familiar formula. The ongoing battle against cheaters will likely be a key focus for Activision as they strive to maintain the integrity of the competitive scene.
