Stellar Blade PS5 Pro Upgrade: A Stunning Visual and Performance Boost

Stellar Blade’s PS5 Pro upgrade is a significant improvement over the original PS5 release. The inconsistent performance and poor image quality issues have been largely addressed thanks to two new graphics modes: Pro and Pro Max.

Enhanced Visuals

The Pro mode utilizes PSSR upscaling, resulting in a cleaner, more stable image than the original quality mode. While PSSR isn’t flawless, in Stellar Blade it delivers excellent results, arguably the best we’ve seen from this technology. The Pro Max mode offers an uncapped quality mode, ideal for VRR displays.

Improved Performance

Performance has also seen a boost. The balanced mode now consistently hits 60fps, and the Pro mode is also locked at 60fps. A high frame-rate (HFR) mode unlocks 120Hz output, further reducing input lag. Pro Max mode, while offering higher frame rates, is not locked and needs a VRR display for optimal experience.

Recommendation and Additional Features

For the best balance of performance and image quality, the Pro mode is recommended. The update also includes a fantastic photo mode, gameplay tweaks, and Nier Automata crossover DLC.
