Million-Dollar LAN Party House: A Software Engineer’s Dream
LANtastic: Nostalgia for LAN parties fueled software engineer Kenton Varda’s million-dollar project. He transformed his Austin home into the ultimate modern LAN party haven.
A Gamer’s Paradise
The three-year project, as reported by The Verge, features:
- A basement with 12 gaming stations built into folding wall cabinets.
- Two call rooms with private gaming stations.
- An office space with a large table for board games or six additional gaming PCs and two workstations.
- A room with four Dance Dance Revolution pads.
Each of the 22 PCs boasts an RTX 4070, an Intel Core i5-13600, and 32GB of RAM. Most stations connect to a central room housing and cooling the towers.
By Invitation Only
Varda hosts LAN parties every other weekend, focusing on team-based games. Security measures prevent random online access.
