Minecraft TNT Guide: Crafting, Exploding, and Using It Effectively
TNT is a satisfying way to demolish structures and clear areas in Minecraft, but crafting and detonating it requires some knowledge. This guide will walk you through the process, from crafting TNT to setting it off.
Crafting TNT
Creating TNT is simple, requiring just two ingredients: Sand and Gunpowder. Sand is easy to find near bodies of water, while Gunpowder is a bit trickier to obtain.
Crafting Recipe
- Place two Sand blocks in the top and bottom middle slots of a crafting table.
- Place two more Sand blocks in the middle of the outer columns.
- Fill the remaining slots with Gunpowder to create one TNT.
Gunpowder can be obtained from various mobs, primarily Creepers, which drop up to five Gunpowder when killed. Other sources include Witches, Ghasts, and chests found in dungeons, desert temples, shipwrecks, and woodland mansions.
Using TNT
To detonate TNT, you’ll need Flint and Steel, crafted using Flint and an Iron Ingot. Flint can be mined from gravel, while Iron Ingots are made by smelting Iron Ore in a furnace.
Flint and Steel Crafting
- Place a Flint and an Iron Ingot next to each other on a crafting table.
Once you have Flint and Steel, place the TNT and use the Flint and Steel on it. The TNT will flash white and explode after a few seconds, destroying nearby blocks and structures. Be cautious!
