Nintendo Ends Animal Crossing Pocket Camp Online Support
Nintendo’s free-to-play mobile spin-off Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is coming to an end after almost seven years of service. The current version of the game will be taken down on November 29th, 2024, but players will have the option to transfer their progress to an offline version of the game after making a one-off purchase.
Nintendo made the announcement today, giving players just over three months to finalize their affairs in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp. Despite the game nearing its end of service, the company has stated that it will continue to host events and add new items until the shutdown date.
A New Offline-Only Experience
Unlike other live-service games that have been taken offline in recent years, Nintendo will allow players to transfer their save data to an offline-only version of the app. This new version of the game will retain the basic gameplay and controls but will lack certain features such as in-app purchases, subscriptions, Market Boxes, gifts, and the ability to visit other players’ campsites.
Preparing for the Transition
To ensure a smooth transition, players should spend any remaining Leaf Tickets before November 28th, as they will not be transferable to the offline version. Players will also be unable to sign up for the game’s subscriptions after October 28th, which marks the beginning of the maintenance period.
Nintendo’s official statement and a guide on transferring save data for both iOS and Android can be found on the company’s official FAQ page.
