Pathologic 3 Brings Time Travel to Horror Series
The Pathologic series, a plague-themed horror series from developer Ice-Pick Lodge, is returning for a third installment. This time, it’s introducing time travel to its mix of survival and haunting theatrics.
A New Chapter in the Series
Pathologic 3 is an oddity in the series as it’s technically the second chunk of Pathologic 2, which was a half-sequel and half-remake of the original 2005 game. The first Pathologic had three playable characters and three distinct routes through its 12 days of increasing misery. However, due to financial concerns, only the Haruspex path made it into Pathologic 2.
Dankovsky’s Path
The focus of Pathologic 3 will be on the path of Daniil Dankovsky, a young doctor and expert in thanatology. Dankovsky travels to the mysterious town at the start of the outbreak to advance his research on death. He has 12 days to stop the plague, using his medical skills to examine potions, diagnose diseases, and impose quarantines.
Time Travel and Exploration
Dankovsky now also wields the power of time, allowing him to travel forward to witness the future or go backward to correct mistakes of the past. This new feature enables players to explore the town for new insights, notice details, and connect the dots. They can uncover the secrets of the town’s inhabitants, shape their stories, and decide their fates.
Release Plans
The current plan is to release Pathologic 3 for PC sometime next year. While this is all the information available for now, fans of the series can look forward to a new and exciting chapter in the Pathologic series.
