Intel Lunar Lake Outperforms Steam Deck in Gaming Benchmarks
In a recent series of tests, Intel’s Lunar Lake CPUs have proven to be faster than AMD’s Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 and Z1 Extreme APUs in gaming benchmarks. The tests, conducted by PC hardware reviewer Geekerwan, compared the performance of a Lenovo Yoga laptop powered by the Intel Core Ultra 7 258V against the Steam Deck and ASUS ROG Ally.
Low-Power Tests
In low-power tests, the Lunar Lake chip proved to be significantly faster than AMD’s Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 Strix Point CPU and the AMD Van Gogh APU in the Steam Deck. The chip also outperformed the Z1 Extreme in the ROG Ally.
Real-World Performance
In real-world performance tests, the Core Ultra 7 258V hit impressive frame rates in several games, including:
Higher Power Tests
The 258V was also tested at 30W / 1080p, where it came out faster than the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 and Core Ultra 9 185H in several games. However, it did disappoint in Elden Ring, where it was slower than the 185H.
Overall, the Intel Lunar Lake chip has proven to be a powerful performer in gaming benchmarks, outperforming several AMD processors in various tests.
