Play Split Fiction Free With Friend’s Pass & Cross-Play
Exciting news for co-op gaming fans EA and Hazelight Studios have shared details on how Split Fiction’s Friend’s Pass and cross-play features work. There’s even a free trial available
Split Fiction, like previous Hazelight games (It Takes Two and A Way Out), offers a Friend’s Pass. This lets someone who owns the game invite a friend who doesn’t, to play the *entire* game together. This version expands on previous features, adding cross-platform play.
How Does the Friend’s Pass Work?
Here’s the breakdown:
Don’t Own the Game? No Problem
The Friend’s Pass includes a free trial with the opening stages of Split Fiction. Both players download the Friend’s Pass version. If either of you purchases the full game later, your progress carries over.
It’s currently unclear if Friend’s Pass players will retroactively earn achievements/trophies upon purchasing the full game, as was the case in A Way Out.
Cross-Play in Split Fiction
Unlike previous titles, Split Fiction features full cross-play. PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S players can all play together. Cross-play does require each player to have separate EA accounts.
Looking for a Player?
Hazelight has a Discord server with a “Looking for Player” channel to help you find someone to play Split Fiction.
Split Fiction launches on March 6 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
