2K Ditches its Launcher: Popular Titles Now Launcher-Free
Good news for PC gamers! 2K has officially shut down its PC launcher, freeing popular titles from its grip. This means no more extra launcher hassle for a number of beloved games.
Affected Games
The change impacts numerous titles available on Steam and the Epic Games Store, including:
- BioShock Remastered
- BioShock 2 Remastered
- BioShock Infinite
- Mafia Trilogy Definitive Edition
- Civilization 5 and 6
- The Quarry
- XCOM 2
- XCOM: Chimera Squad
- Marvel’s Midnight Suns
According to 2K’s blog post, the removal should be seamless. A recent update on Steam ensured the launcher’s removal from affected games. If you’re still seeing the 2K Launcher, update your games and restart Steam.
Access to your games and save files remains unaffected. 2K explicitly states that there are no current plans to offer the 2K Launcher as an optional setting.
Future 2K releases, including Civilization 7 and Ken Levine’s Judas, will also launch without the 2K Launcher.
